New Cafe in Newquay – Gilmores Golf
This bank holiday weekend, I managed to check out Gilmores Golf cafe for breakfast. The cafe has recently been re-opened by Elsie Pinniger (who also runs Neon wetsuits and former joint owner of Jam Jar), and it’s such a great new venture. It is located next to the mini golf course on Tower Road (hence the name Gilmores…like the film Happy Gilmore?) so you can go for breakfast or lunch and then go for a game of mini golf after. Brilliant!
Gilmores is so much better than the greasy spoon that it once was. It now serves amazing Mexican food, something Newquay can never get enough of. From breakfast burritos to lunch time tacos, the menu has everything you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. I tried the baked eggs for breakfast and they were delicious…mmm…and they also had a good kick to them, so I couldn’t have been happier! As well as serving scrummy Mexican bites, the cafe also provides great coffee by Origin. I cannot wait to go back one evening to try the cocktails. Who’s in?
So if you want to check out somewhere new to eat in Newquay, with great coffee and amazing Mexican influenced breakfast or lunch, then I highly recommend you go and check out Gilmores Golf Cafe. You can check out the Facebook page here. Two thumbs up from me!
