Pimm’s Recipe

Glass of Pimm's

How to make the perfect Pimm’s cocktail

During the long summer days, a glass of Pimm’s is the perfect cocktail to sip whilst putting your feet up to enjoy the sun…ah sounds delightful doesn’t it? The cocktail is so mouthwatering and refreshing and it it so simple to make. It’s Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Here’s the perfect Pimm’s recipe:

What you will need:

  • A jug
  • 1 or 2 handfuls of ice cubes
  • 1 bottle of Pimm’s
  • 1 bottle of lemonade
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 punnet of strawberries
  • 2 or 3 handfuls of mint leaves

Method:

  1. Cut up the strawberries and cucumber into reasonable size pieces
  2. Add the ice cubes to the jug
  3. Then fill with 1/2 of the cucumber, mint and strawberries (you will need the other half for another jug later)
  4. Fill the jug with 1/3 of Pimm’s and 2/3 Lemonade
  5. Give it a good stir
  6. Voila… it’s ready to be served

There you have it, a simple recipe for the perfect summer Pimm’s for you to enjoy in the sun. An alternative Pimm’s recipe would be to use different fruit, however I think this one keeps it simple…you want to be outside enjoying the sun not cooped up in the kitchen. I always think Pimm’s is great for parties or to take to the beach or park. If I do take it somewhere with me I am a little picky and put all the ingredients in storage containers and make it up when I get there…what? it’s so much nicer fresh, trust me. I also love serving it in jam jars, that way if you are at a party your not so precious over your favourite glasses breaking. Did you also know you can make a winter Pimm’s cocktail? Watch this space and I will share it with you to enjoy during those dark winter months when we need a little bit of excitement.
